Sodium hydroxide is also known as caustic soda , caustic soda or baking soda. Caustic soda is a white solid material, odorless and in the form of white flakes, which easily absorbs moisture in the air and becomes sticky. This substance is considered one of the most important industrial chemicals that is used in many industries and it also has degreasing properties and can break down fat molecules quickly. Baking soda has a chemical composition that has a strong alkaline property and is known as a PH regulator, and it can be used to neutralize acids and produce all kinds of salts. Caustic soda is a type of ionic salt consisting of Na+ positive ion and OH- hydroxide negative ion in the form of NaOH.

Caustic Soda Flakes is a type of alkaline salt and has many applications in various industrial and non-industrial sectors. Peach soda, along with some acids, has the highest consumption among chemicals and is about 60 million tons per year, which is produced under the name of Sodium Hydroxide. Caustic Soda Flakes is white and odorless and is offered in the form of flakes or powder. This chemical is highly soluble in water and has less solubility in Ethanol and Methanol but does not dissolve in Ether and other non-polar solutions. Caustic Soda Flake is corrosive and non-flammable with concentration of 99%.

Caustic soda flake is used in oil and gas industry, aluminum industry, paper making, production of different kinds of chemicals, food industry, pharmaceutical, textile industry and cosmetics and health products manufacturing.

Applications of Caustic Soda Flakes include Sodium Sulfide production, oil industry, detergent, paper, health, ceramics, alcohol, leather, automobile industry. It is also used for cotton factories for bleaching, wastewater and sewage control, degreasing, dyeing, water purification, acid neutralization in battery making, as a bleaching and lubricating agent in textiles.

  • Caustic Soda Flakes in Paper and Pulp

The most common use of Caustic Soda Flakes worldwide is in the paper industry. It is used with 99% purity in the processes of pulp production, bleaching of pulp produced and removal of ink from recycled paper.

  • Caustic Soda Flakes in food industry

In the food industry, Caustic Soda Flakes is used to wash fruits and vegetables, produce chocolate and cocoa, caramel dyes and ice cream. It is used as an antibacterial in cans in the olive production process to remove bitterness. Other application of Caustic Soda Flakes is in the beverage industry to produce milk, sugar and oil. Sodium Hydroxide Applications in Soap and Detergent

Another important use of Caustic Soda Flakes is in the detergent industry. It is used in these industries to make soap, process to converts fats, foundations, and vegetable oils into soap. In this industry, Sodium Hydroxide is added to water and after heating, it is used to clean equipment and tanks. Another application of Caustic Soda is used to produce bleach. Bleaching agents have many industrial and domestic applications such as degreasing and controlling mold and mildew.

  • Sodium Hydroxide Applications in Water Refinery

Caustic Soda Flakes is also used to raise the pH of water. Increasing the pH of water is to reduce the amount of lead, copper and toxic metals that can be dissolved in drinking water. Other uses of Caustic Soda Metal industry and manufacturing of glass, zinc and plating pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics Textile and dyeing industry Gas and petrochemical industries Drilling mud Biodiesel Aluminum Tissue Digestion Cellulose material calibration
